About

Campden Gallery opened in 2003 to showcase a varied range of high quality contemporary art. Throughout the year the gallery features an eclectic programme of solo and group exhibitions by established painters, sculptors and printmakers from the UK and elsewhere. Campden Gallery also provides an opportunity for young, emerging, talented artists to show and promote their work.

Ever since the foundation of the Arts & Crafts Movement in the late nineteenth century, the Cotswolds have played an important role in British art. Located in one of the finest towns in the Cotswolds, prominently situated in what historian and author G.M. Trevelyan once described as "the most beautiful village high street now left in the island", Campden Gallery is housed within a splendidly preserved 300 year old limestone building in the centre of Chipping Campden.

The Grade II listed property had formally been a saddler and harness maker, established in 1760, before later becoming a needlecraft shop. After studying fine art, followed by a career in publishing and marketing, Guy Cohen acquired the building in 2002 and after extensive refurbishment opened it as the contemporary art gallery you find today.
